ReUse Pilot Program

Bath is one of three Maine communities participating in ReUse ME, a pilot program led by researchers at the University of Maine to explore reusable takeout packaging systems. The program is designed to reduce disposable food packaging waste and support local businesses and customers.

Recycling Information

  • What can I recycle?

    • Paper: office paper, newspaper, magazines, mail, envelopes, catalogs, paper bags, paperboard (cereal boxes, etc.)
    • Milk/Juice Cartons or Jugs
    • Cardboard: corrugated boxes (flattened, clean, and dry)
    • Plastics: Bottles and containers #1-#7
    • Metal: aluminum cans, tin/steel cans, clean aluminum foil
    • Glass bottles or jars: Any Color.

    How do I get a blue bin?

    • Blue bins are available from the Bath Landfill for $10.00. The Landfill is open Monday - Friday
      7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

    When is my recycling pick up?

    • Monday: All streets south of Route 1
    •  Tuesday: All streets from Route 1 to the south of North Street
    •  Wednesday: All streets north of North Street, west of High Street and North Bath
    •  Thursday: All streets north of North Street and east of High Street
