Volunteer coaches play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and positive experience for our young athletes. As a coach, you’ll be expected to model good sportsmanship, promote teamwork, and focus on developing fundamental skills—not just winning. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in your community while helping kids grow in confidence and character.

Coaches are responsible for planning and leading practices, communicating with families, and ensuring the safety and well-being of every participant. All coaches must adhere to program rules, attend orientation, and pass a background check. 

Volunteers of all experience levels are welcome, and shifts are flexible based on the event. We’ll provide any necessary training or support to help you succeed. 

Our special events and programs—like the Heritage Days Road Race, Cribbage Tournament, Autumnfest Pumpkin Patch, vacation camps, and the annual sports card show—rely on volunteers to create welcoming, fun, and memorable experiences for residents of all ages. Whether you're greeting guests, helping with setup, leading activities, or just lending a hand where it's needed, your time and energy make a big difference.

Bath Parks & Recreation relies on volunteer referees and officials to support programs like basketball, soccer, t-ball, and more. Officials play an important role in teaching the rules of the game, encouraging sportsmanship, and creating a safe, respectful environment for all players.

No prior officiating experience is required, but is preferred. Volunteers must have a willingness to learn, stay calm under pressure, and be a fair and confident presence on the field or court. Training and rulebooks will be provided.
