Starting July 29, High Street at Denny Road will be closed to all traffic for the sewer interceptor installation as part of the Harward Street Pump Station and Sewer Interceptor Upgrade.Detour routes will be in place and clearly marked with signage — please follow posted DETOUR signs in the area.Several streets will be closed to thru traffic but remain open for local access.
On street parking may be disrupted in the project area; alternate parking can be found in the municipal lot on Water St, on street parking along Front St north of the project area, and along Commercial St.

We are committed to protecting the Kennebec River by using sustainable and effective wastewater treatment practices. The staff is tasked with operating and maintaining the city's wastewater treatment plant (avg. 2 million gallons/day), 13 pump stations, combined sewer discharges and the force mains. We are always on-ccall, and a staff member is required to be at the plant 365 days of the year.
