The City of Bath operates under a Council – City Manager form of government. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council and is responsible for all City affairs placed under his charge by the City Council and the City’s Charter.

The City Manager is the chief administrative officer of the City and is responsible for the following:

Human Resources provides support to the City’s management staff, employees and City Council in the areas of labor and employee relations, employee training/development, health/safety, recruitment/selection, compensation/classification, and employee benefits administration.

The Marketing & Communications Division keeps residents informed and engaged by managing the City’s website, social media, newsletters, press releases, branding, and public information. The team supports all departments with clear, accessible content and creative services that help explain projects, promote programs, and share timely updates with the community. Staff also coordinate media requests, maintain the City’s visual identity, and guide digital outreach efforts to ensure consistent, user-focused communication.

The Information Technology Division supports the City’s digital systems, networks, and security to ensure reliable, efficient, and accessible services across all departments. The team manages hardware and software, oversees major technology projects, protects City data, and provides daily technical support through the internal help desk. IT also includes Bath Community Television (BCTV), which offers residents and nonprofits access to video production resources and community programming.
