Bath is looking for its next Director of Public Works, and it might be you.

In this role, you'll be a dynamic, driven executive, leading a talented team, tackling complex infrastructure challenges and delivering essential services to nearly 9,000 residents. The Public Works Department is at the heart of what makes Bath work, maintaining more than 100 miles of streets and sidewalks, a wastewater treatment plant with sewer and stormwater systems, a landfill with solid waste and recycling programs and the care of more than 20,000 public trees.

The qualified candidate will have 10+ years of progressively responsible related experience, including five years in a supervisory role. They have led teams, managed complex projects, and know what it takes to run a full-service public works operation. Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Maine.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of municipal public works functions, capital planning, and regulatory requirements; excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

This full-time, exempt position has a starting salary range of $94,827 - $109,054, depending on experience. The City of Bath offers generous paid leave, participation in the Maine Public Employee Retirement System, and excellent health and wellness benefits.
