Leeman Highway and Route 1 Sidewalks
November 30, 2022 - UPDATE - NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING - The City of Bath has done preliminary engineering to create new sidewalks along both sides of Route 1 between High Street and Congress Avenue. A public information meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Bath City Hall auditorium. City staff and engineers from Gorrill Palmer will be on hand to present the preliminary plans and answer any questions about the project.
The engineering design work is 80% funded by the Maine Department of Transportation. Funding and a timeframe for construction has not yet been established, but is not expected to happen before 2024. This work may impact properties abutting the Route 1 corridor. If you own one of these parcels, or if you or someone you know has an interest in this proposed project, please plan to attend this meeting so that we may hear your concerns and gather your input.

The City of Bath Department of Public Works is seeking proposals from MaineDOT pre-qualified firms to perform preliminary engineering for sidewalk design on Leeman Highway (Route 1) in Bath. Interested firms should download the Request for Proposal file below and follow the instructions to submit a response. This project is a locally administered project in cooperation with the Maine Department of Transportation.
